Okay, well - I haven't wrote on here in quite some time, so I thought I would today!
So, this week at university, it's careers week. This is basically a week that's timetabled with various lectures to help you either in work placements, a year abroad and graduate schemes.
One of the hardest decisions was deciding whether to do a year in industry or a year abroad, coming to the conclusion that it would suit me if I could find a summer internship. It seems so scary how quickly this is all coming around with the larger companies graduate schemes needing to be completed by the 31st December! I'm glad Coventry university is helping us to be the best we can be, whether that's with our CV writing, cover letters, places to look for graduate schemes and workshops available. Many universities don't offer this kind of support.
I sort of know what I'd like to do once I graduate, and i hope to find the right graduate scheme for me. I'd love to go into events management, buying, editing or marketing - any of those career prospects I will look into thoroughly, whether it be a straight up graduate application or possibly a summer internship.
Everyone said that university will be the best and fastest three years of your life, and they were right. Currently more than half way through my time at university and it has flown by! Meeting the most amazing people along the way that are going through exactly the same thing as you are. But I am also looking forward to getting out into the world and hopefully (cross fingers) go into a job I love, and don't mind getting up in the morning.
